The emphasis of the Summit on the Government’s ‘Act-East Policy’ is a thoughtful initiative.

The North-Eastern region symbolizes Ashtalakshmi - or eight forms of prosperity. Today, this region has turned into a growth engine for the nation at a time when India ranks among the world's fastest growing economies and is a top investment destination.

By focusing on ushering development into states like Assam that were long neglected, we have unlocked a new wave of growth which took us from the world’s 10" largest economy to the 5" largest. We are soon poised to become the 3 largest economy.

Over the last decade, infrastructure development is one of the engines propelling the nation’s economy. The infrastructure growth witnessed in Assam and the North-Eastern region over the last few years has been historic and unprecedented.

Be it the expansion and modernisation of physical, or healthcare infrastructure, Assam is fast emerging as a key player in the nation’s industrial and trade ecosystem, as well as a hub of healthcare services for the North-East. We will continue to explore new possibilities and take bold decisions that are innovation-based and inclusive.

With the spirit of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’ that blends development and heritage, we remain firmly committed to the creating a supportive physical and social infrastructure that gives impetus to the beautiful culture, cuisine, textiles and tourist destinations of Assam, which is blessed with great diversity.

The organisation of this Summit clearly demonstrates that the advantage lies with Assam, as well as that Assam will prove advantageous for every investor.
